Mind & Body - Canine Companion Coaching’s Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, and Disclaimer. Clear policies to protect you, your dog, and our work together.
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: November 2025
Working on behavior often means opening up about your life with your dog. I respect the trust that takes, and I handle your information with care and confidentiality. This policy explains how I collect, use, and protect the information you share with me.
1. Information I Collect
In the course of working together, I may collect:
Your contact details (name, email, phone number).
Information you share verbally during consultations about your dog’s history, health, environment, or household.
Notes I take during or after sessions to track progress and support follow-up.
Emails, photos, or documents you voluntarily send me about your dog.
I do not use automated intake forms at this time. Most information is gathered verbally and through direct communication.
2. How I Use Your Information
I use the information you provide only to:
Prepare for and conduct consultations.
Track progress and create appropriate training and behavior support plans.
Communicate with you about scheduling, resources, or follow-up.
Collaborate with your veterinarian or another professional only if you ask me to or consent to it.
I will never sell, rent, or trade your information.
3. Storage & Security
Client notes are stored securely (in password-protected digital files or private written notes).
Only I have access to these records.
While no system is completely foolproof, I take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
4. Sharing of Information
I will only share your information if:
You give explicit consent (for example, asking me to coordinate with your veterinarian).
I am legally required to do so (such as by a court order).
5. Your Choices
You may request at any time that I update or delete your client records, unless I am legally required to retain them (for example, for insurance or liability purposes).
6. Updates to This Policy
If my practices change, I may update this Privacy Policy. Updates will be posted here with a new “Effective Date.”
Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: November 2025
Working on behavior takes time, care, and planning. These Terms & Conditions are here so our work together feels respectful and clear. I am one person running this practice, and I value the time, trust, and energy that each client brings. By booking a consultation or service with Mind & Body – Canine Companion Coaching, you agree to the terms below.
1. Payment & Booking
All services are prepaid to reserve your appointment time. Preparing for each client involves reviewing history, creating a plan, and organizing the day so that each dog and human pair receives my full attention.
Prepayment allows me to keep scheduling fair and intentional. If payment is not received within the timeframe discussed, your spot may need to be opened for another client who is waiting.
2. Cancellations & Rescheduling
I understand that things come up, truly. However, I plan my days carefully so that every client fits together like pieces of a puzzle. When one appointment changes suddenly, it can affect the rest of the day and other families hoping for time.
If you need to reschedule, please let me know as soon as possible (ideally 48 hours in advance). I always do my best to find another time that works for both of us.
3. Refunds
Once a session has been completed, refunds are not available.
Behavior consulting is a service based on time, expertise, and individualized preparation, not a physical product that can be returned. Each session includes the planning, communication, and emotional work that happens before we even meet, as well as the education and guidance provided during our time together.
Even if results take time to unfold, the service itself has already been delivered in full. For that reason, refunds are not possible once a session has taken place.
If a true emergency prevents you from attending your scheduled session, please reach out as soon as possible. I will always do my best to find a solution that feels fair for both of us.
4. Travel Fees
For in-person sessions, travel fees may apply depending on distance. These will always be discussed and agreed upon before booking so there are no surprises.
5. Scope of Services
My services focus on canine behavior consulting and coaching. Canine fitness and conditioning can be supplemental to our work as body mechanics and underlying pain greatly impact behavior. I do not provide veterinary, diagnostic, or medical services. If your dog’s behavior may be connected to a medical issue, I may suggest contacting your veterinarian or an appropriate professional so we can work as a team.
Every dog and family is unique. I offer individualized guidance and support, but results and timelines will vary based on participation and each dog’s needs.
6. Liability
Working with animals always involves some unpredictability. You are responsible for your dog’s behavior and safety at all times, including before and after our sessions.
By choosing to work with me, you acknowledge this and agree that Mind & Body – Canine Companion Coaching is not liable for injuries or damages that may occur while following training plans or recommendations.
7. Confidentiality
Anything you share about yourself, your household, or your dog is kept private. I may use de-identified examples for educational or professional development purposes, but never in a way that reveals your identity or personal details.
8. Agreement
Booking a session means you have read and understood these Terms & Conditions, and that you are entering into our work together with mutual respect and transparency.
Disclaimer
Effective Date: October 2025
My goal is to support you and your dog through understanding, education, and skill building. The information and services provided by Mind & Body – Canine Companion Coaching are intended for educational and coaching purposes only. They are not a substitute for veterinary care, medical advice, or formal diagnosis.
While I draw on professional knowledge, experience, and continuing education in canine behavior and welfare, I am not a veterinarian. If I ever believe your dog’s behavior may be related to an underlying medical concern, I will recommend consultation with your veterinarian or appropriate professional.
Every dog and human relationship is unique. Results depend on many factors, including the dog’s history, environment, genetics, and the consistency of training and management. I cannot guarantee specific outcomes or timelines, but I can promise my commitment to providing guidance, support, and clarity throughout our work together.
